Samahan ng Lahing Pilipino (Fellowship
of Filipino Lineage) or SLP was officially
recognized on August 25, 2005 by the
California State University, Los Angeles.
SLP was founded to bring Filipino students
together to promote awareness of the
rich history and culture of the Philippines
and provide an environment where all
members will develop a sense of camaraderie
with each other.
The organization's main focus is cultural.
We seek to construct valuable meetings
and discussions where all members will
feel connected with each other by sharing
experiences and opinions regarding the
culture. The topics of discussion will
help strengthen the pride of our own
cultural heritage while being away from
the Philippines. SLP will also help
us accept, adapt, and launch new ideas
and actions to ensure achievement of
our success.

| SLP officers, Raquel has suggested that we have an officers meeting within the next 2 weeks... to discuss PCN plans (and probably the Fall Quarter in general). There will probably be more meetings as we get closer to September, so that we have solid plans for the Fall. When is everyone free on the week of the 20th? Email slp.historian@gmail.com |

CSULA PCN is closer than you think! |

Sorry about not having a meeting this past Wednesday. It's been a busy quarter for a lot of us. The club officers will get together and collaborate soon on some upcoming events. Some things to look forward to:
• TV tapings... so that we can make some money ^_^
• Friday May 9th 7:30pm, Laughs to End Domestic Violence featuring Rex Navarrete at UC Riverside. Tickets sold at the door.
• Friday May 16th 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm, Asian/Pacific Islander Celebration at Santa Monica College. Free admission. • big end-of-the-quarter-gathering/event/hangout
• other stuff
I'm not sure when our next general meeting will be. It might be Wednesday May 7th. Oh, and if you haven't already looked at the Pictures section, I've posted things from Sportsfest.
